ISTC was set up in
1992 as a non-profit Association assisting Russian organizations and
individuals with marketing their high-tech
assets internationally as well as foreign investors interested to
participate in advanced techno industrial business projects in Russia.
The Association founding members
are the Ministry of Science and Technologies of the Russian Federation,
The Russian Academy of Sciences, Ministry of State Property of the
Russian Federation and Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research.
Following are the main areas of
activities:

Formation of data bank of
Russian technologies that have no analogues abroad.

Organization of specialized
technological exhibitions, seminars and symposia abroad.

Setting up international
scientific and technological projects and their legal support.

Transfer of Russian technologies
abroad for industrial joint ventures.

Targeted scientific research in
Russia on contract assignments from foreign customers.

Export of scientific and
technological products and import of scientific and research equipment.

Recommendations for improvement
of Russian legislation in the field of international scientific and
technological cooperation and international industrial cooperation.
-
Preparation and publishing of
analytical materials and recommendations for Russian members of the
Association on functioning of international market of technologies,
prospects of its development and methods of working on the market.
Preparation
of recommendations for foreign members of the Association on the most
profitable and perspective investments in scientific and technological
spheres of the Russian economy.
Recently, the Association
focused on transfer of Russian technologies and in the past two years 5
new companies using Russian technologies were set up abroad.
International activities of the
Association grow intensively and are well known abroad.
From 1996 the Association is the
Russian official Representative in the Asian Pacific Center for Transfer
of Technologies (APCTT) that acts under the auspices of the UN. Same
year the Association came forward as a founder of the Russian √ Chinese
Consortium ⌠Center for Science and High Technologies■ that is at present
coordinating work on setting up joint ventures in the Free Economic
Zones of China using Russian technologies.
The
Association entered into an Agreement on Cooperation with the Institute
of Foreign Trade of Italy. Starting from 1998 the
Association is a member of the International Federation of Inventive
Associations (IFIA). The Association has been granted
status of the exclusive agent of the Ministry for Industry, Science and
Technologies of the Russian Federation for holding all exhibition
activities of the Ministry abroad.
The
International exhibition activities of the
Association are also supported by the Government of
Russia that entrusts it constantly with organization and holding
specialized scientific and technological exhibitions of national level
abroad., being the permanent participant of the Hanover exhibitions,
The Association is also the ⌠Hannover Messe■ official Representative in
Russia.
The
Association's President Mr.
Boris Georgievich SALTYKOV is a prominent member of the Russian
scientific and technological community. He is a former Minister of
Science and Technology of the Russian Federation (1991 √ 1996).
